Yoga Instructors

Stine Hegre

Stine began her yoga journey in 2009 after completing her first yoga teacher training. Since 2012, she has been a full-time yoga instructor. Stine holds certificates in various yoga disciplines, including Vinyasa, Rocket, Yin, Restorative, Yoganidra, pre and postnatal yoga, Acro Yoga, and Breath Work. She has had the privilege of learning from outstanding teachers worldwide, drawing inspiration from each of them.

Stine's approach to yoga is non-dogmatic, emphasizing the importance of empowering individuals to connect with their own bodies rather than striving for perfection. Her teaching philosophy revolves around personal practice, putting the focus on the practitioner's journey rather than the instructor's.

Her classes are known for their creativity, flow, and challenges, while always offering room for personalization. Students have the freedom to modify and tailor their practice to suit their needs. Stine is enthusiastic about the prospect of sharing transformative experiences with like-minded individuals once again. She looks forward to welcoming you to the practice.

Sebastian Brosche

Sebastian Brosche, a Swedish-born Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, gained recognition not only for his accomplishments in grappling but also for his profound journey into yoga.

Despite starting with judo at a young age, he transitioned to grappling because he found Brazilian jiu-jitsu more aligned with his preferences for technique and flexibility over brute strength.

By 2011, years of judo and jiu-jitsu had left Brosche with severe back pain. It was during this time that he met Stine Hegre, who introduced him to yoga. Embracing yoga not only improved his overall health but also enhanced his grappling skills significantly.

Throughout his journey, Brosche continued to excel in both jiu-jitsu and yoga, eventually achieving his black belt in December 2016.

Motivated by the positive impact of yoga on his life and grappling, Sebastian and Stine launched "Yoga for BJJ," an innovative online platform that combined yoga and jiu-jitsu to help grapplers improve their performance and overall well-being. This initiative marked a significant contribution to the global grappling community.

In 2016, Helena transitioned to London, directing the Mysore program at Triyoga Chelsea for three years before studying under Gregor Maehle in Bali. In 2019, she relocated to Valencia to advance her practice and soon settled in Mallorca.

Apart from her consistent Ashtanga workshops and online classes, Helena passionately intertwines her love for music, particularly in Kirtans—Sanskrit chanting sessions complemented by musical instruments. Helena views practice as pivotal in nurturing relationships with oneself, time, and others.

Other instructors and teachers - Other seminars

Simon Kenion Shears

Welcoming author, philosopher, amateur arm wrestler, and fitness coach Simon Kenion Shears to the Spring festival where he’ll be giving 3 talks with Q&A over the 5 days.

In 2022, he published ‘Working [it] Out: What actually makes us exercise?” In the book, he dismisses widely held dogmas on ‘motivation’ and ‘self-discipline’ and offers a new perspective on exercise, redefining how we think about emotions like ‘effort’ and ‘laziness’. By examining exercise through the lens of evolutionary psychology, he argues that running on a treadmill to go nowhere or lifting weights without building anything, are neither peculiar nor unnatural and that we can decode our seemingly strange exercise habits by connecting them to just a few underlying biological motives.

Whilst writing the book, Simon also wrote a health and fitness column for the Majorca Daily Bulletin newspaper. After its publication in 2022, he decided to put his research to the test and, in January 2023, founded Fresh Fitness Clubs- a rapidly growing outdoor fitness business, helping more people make exercise a habit.

Lastly, if you really want to dive in deep before the talks check out the Raspberry Ape Podcast episode 107 with its fantastic host and festival professor Daniel Strauss.
